$40 + haircut!

Yikes! Ya'll know how "frugal" I am. I was in desperate need of a haircut, but could go a bit longer without a color job. So I thought I'd just go to the gal I usually get my hair done with and just do a cut. That shouldn't be too bad. Now, bear in mind that I dont usually pay to have my hair done, cause I find it hard to spend 100 dollars on myself. But my mom gets fed up with my hair before I do (which is nice to have someone looking out for me! ha!). And often she foots the bill.

I know...I'm a grown woman and I should absolutely be paying for my own hair. I'm aware. Anywho, so I go in for the haircut. I have cash in hand thinking I have plenty to pay for hair and tip and have some leftover for my eyebrows. Ha! I paid for my hair and tip and had $5 leftover. Not enough for a splurge on eyebrows!

So what do we think? To get a really good haircut, is this a good price?! I did the shampoo, cut, and style--LOVE IT BTW! Just curious if I was on another planet thinking it'd be about $25.

Actually $40 is right for a good hair cut. It is always nice when you can find a good person for $25,but that is few and far between. Also, you have to remember the cost of their products are going up with everything else. My husband actually gets mad when I get cheap hair cuts because that is one thing that you get what you pay for. You are paying for her experience. It's worth it!

I think you can get your hair cut for around $25, if you go somewhere cheap, but where you and I and your mom go, it's not that cheap!!! They are definitely on the higher price end of things. I always just wait until I can get both cut and hair color and always spend around $100 each time, which I stretch out for at least 4 or more months, instead of doing it every 2 or 3, like you should! I also don't get my hair cut inbetween colors cause I can't afford that and to save money!!! Ha!

Fashion loser here...I don't pay more than $30 for a cut. But I also have really boring, greying hair. But, I'm just not a hair-girl, so I'm ok with that. The place I've gone most recently is $22. But that does not include color, etc. And I can never make my hair look the way the stylist does anyways.

Your hair is way cute and I suspect that $40+ is definitely the going rate for a really cute cut and style.

Since as you and some of your readers know I am NOT as frugal as some of you girls and my hair is the one thing I can control and enjoy changing...ALOT --I pay about that...and color is more soooooooooo that is why I do my own hair color and I think it turns out okay....I have actually started to do my own touch up color in between...the roots!
I say every once in a while a good splurge is a good thing for the soul--and I bet you look AWESOME don;t you?!

beth, w & j's mom, btw, I was admiring your hair when I saw you before my hair cut on tuesday, so I truly do value your opinion. I'm a bit scared to do my own color, but I stretch my color out anyway, but the cut is a bit hard to stretch out. I DO love my cut. who knows if it'll look that good when I fix it myself, but I loved it yesterday and today.

Ooh honey! I don't think I'd ever be able to find a hair cut for $25!!! I think that was wishful thinking. $40 is a very typical price for all of that, especially if you like it! So, where's the picture??

I pay $35 for haircuts. I thank God that I don't have to get mine done but every three months or so. I guess that is one of the good things about having curly hair.
